George S. Wilburn of Chillicothe is again in custody at the Ross County Jail after being booked on August 17, 2026.
According to Ross County Sheriff’s Office custody records, Wilburn was arrested by Chillicothe police at 1:11 p.m. that day and booked. He faces charges of fugitive from justice and possession of drugs (listed as a warrant charge). Both carry no bond. The arresting officer is listed as Officer Demint. Records show he remains held at the Ross County Jail.
Wilburn had been released on his own recognizance bond around July 22, 2026, in connection with a pending fugitive from justice charge out of a Michigan complaint. That case remains ongoing, with an extradition hearing still scheduled for August 24, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Chillicothe Municipal Court.
A neighborhood resident emailed Hopewell Heritage Headlines on late Sunday night describing a large police presence near the corner of Maplewood and Rogers Parkway on August 17. The tipster said residents asked officers what was happening and were told it was a personal matter. The resident also noted the lack of any news coverage at the time.
Public safety dispatch records from about 9:06 a.m. that same morning show emergency crews were sent to the Rogers Parkway area for an unconscious female with a faint pulse. The call noted it was probably an overdose.
Chillicothe Police Department confirmed the related incident report is not available for public release.
