An 18-year-old Columbus man is facing nine felony counts after his arraignment Thursday in Franklin County Municipal Court, including aggravated burglary and seven counts of felonious assault.
Cashmere Brown, 18, of Columbus, is charged in case 2026 CR A 017788 with one count of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, seven counts of felonious assault, second-degree felonies, and one count of improperly discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, also a second-degree felony, according to court records.
The aggravated burglary count alleges that Brown inflicted, attempted to inflict, or threatened to inflict physical harm. Each felonious assault count alleges harm caused or attempted by means of a deadly weapon or ordnance. The arraignment sheet does not describe the underlying incident, and no further facts were available in the court record Thursday.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office records show Brown was arrested on October 21, 2026, and booked into the Franklin County jail. Bond had not been set in the case as of his arraignment in courtroom 4D.
Brown is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Felony cases filed in municipal court are typically presented to a Franklin County grand jury, which decides whether to issue an indictment and move the case to the Court of Common Pleas.
