A medical campus more than six years in the making breaks ground Sunday in Chillicothe.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Great Seal Medical Campus is set for Sunday, October 25 at 3:00 p.m. at 110 Cohen’s Way, off River Road near Paints Stadium, with a ceremonial groundbreaking at about 3:45 p.m. The ceremony includes a dedication from founder Dr. Brian S. Cohen, community remarks, and recognition of the people who helped bring the project together.

The campus, founded by Dr. Cohen of Cohen Orthopedic, centers on an approximately 83,000-square-foot medical facility bringing surgical care, diagnostic imaging, urgent care, rehabilitation, and multispecialty physician offices together under one roof.

The plans include a 20,000-square-foot surgery center with three advanced operating rooms and a cardiac catheterization laboratory, 10,000 square feet of diagnostic imaging and urgent care with MRI, CT, and vascular and cardiac testing, and 53,000 square feet of medical offices for specialties including orthopedics, total joint surgery, spine care, hand surgery, ENT, vascular surgery, general surgery, and cardiology, along with physical and occupational therapy.

“For more than six years, Great Seal Medical Campus has been more than a vision. It has been a commitment,” Dr. Cohen said. “A commitment to make healthcare better, safer, more accessible, and closer to home.”

Cohen has cared for patients across south central Ohio for more than 25 years. The project puts a priority on patient safety, with infection prevention technology and operating room designs intended to reduce contamination risks and support surgical efficiency.

“Today, we break ground on buildings,” Cohen said. “But what we are really building is trust, opportunity, access, and a healthier future for generations of families.”
