MASSIEVILLE, Ohio — A Chillicothe-area man was taken into custody after a Ross County sheriff’s deputy made contact with him while he was riding a bicycle on Massieville Road, according to sheriff’s office and jail records.
The incident occurred on August 25 near 2153 Massieville Road. According to the initial Ross County Sheriff’s Office narrative, Deputy Jacob JoHansen, conducted a citizen contact with a male on a bicycle, with the encounter ultimately resulting in the arrest of Zachary L. Carl.
The sheriff’s office report lists the offenses under investigation as obstructing official business and operating bicycles and motorcycles on the roadway.
Carl, 47, was subsequently booked into the Ross County Jail shortly after midnight on August 26.
Jail records show Carl was being held on a second-degree misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business. His bond was listed at $1,000 with a 10-percent provision at the time the jail record was accessed.
