A Circleville boy who went missing near the Pumpkin Show rides on Saturday has been found safe, the Circleville Police Department announced.

Police asked for the public’s help finding Carter Gentry, who was last seen near the rides on North Pickaway Street and East Main Street. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and the same distinctive shoes as in his photo, and police asked anyone who spotted him to call the department at 740-474-8888.

The appeal spread fast. Not long after posting it, the department updated the post with the news everyone wanted: he had been located safe.

“The missing juvenile has just been located safe thanks to the help of an eagle-eyed citizen,” the department wrote. “Thank you everyone who shared the post and helped get the word out!”

Saturday was the final day of the Circleville Pumpkin Show, and the area around the rides was packed. Thanks to one person paying attention, this one ended the right way.
