COLUMBUS, Ohio. The Ohio State Highway Patrol will welcome its 181st Cadet Class on Monday, and it is the largest class the Patrol has seen in nearly ten years.

The recruits will gather Monday at 8 a.m. at Highway Patrol district headquarters across the state for a signing day, where each will sign a letter of intent to become a member of the next academy class. Family and friends will be on hand, and district commanders will attend the signings.

Southern Ohio recruits will sign at their closest district headquarters. The Jackson District signing is at the Jackson Patrol Post, 10179 Chillicothe Pike in Jackson, and the Wilmington District signing is at the Wilmington Patrol Post, 950 Rombach Avenue in Wilmington.

Training for the 181st Cadet Class begins the next day, Tuesday, October 27, at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy in Columbus. From there, the cadets begin the journey to becoming Ohio State Troopers.
