CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A woman has been booked into the Ross County Jail on a felony theft warrant following a reported theft involving more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Gearhart Farms LLC.
According to booking records, Alyssa Marie Stephens was booked into the Ross County Jail on November 1, 2026, by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office. Her listed charges include theft without consent on a warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia under Ohio Revised Code 2925.14.
The booking comes days after Gearhart Farms LLC publicly reported a theft at its self-service market on October 27, 2026. The business released surveillance footage showing individuals inside the store and reported that approximately four bags of merchandise had been taken.
According to the business, the stolen merchandise included ribeye steaks, filet mignon, T-bone steaks, ribs, bacon, ground beef, sausage, and other meat products. The business estimated its losses at more than $1,000.
In a subsequent social media post, Gearhart Farms defended its estimated losses, explaining that just five packages of ribeye steaks alone were valued at approximately $250.
The business also expressed frustration over criticism of its pricing, emphasizing the time, money, and labor involved in operating a family-owned farm and self-service market.
Stephens’ booking information confirms a theft-related warrant, although the records provided do not independently establish that the warrant stems from the Gearhart Farms incident.
All individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
