CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Joshua D. Muck has been named the Chillicothe Post’s 2026 Trooper of the Year, the Patrol announced Friday.
Muck, 28, was chosen by his fellow troopers at the post, who pointed to his work attitude, leadership, community engagement and professionalism with supervisors, peers and the public.
A Minford native, Muck joined the Patrol in 2021 as a member of the 168th Academy Class and has served at the Chillicothe Post since graduating. He graduated from Minford High School in Scioto County and earned an associate degree in wildlife resource management from Hocking College.
It is not his first recognition. Muck earned the Patrol’s Criminal Patrol Award in 2024 and again in 2026, the ACE Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement in 2023, and an Award of Excellence for auto larceny in 2024.
With the post honor, Muck is now in the running for the Jackson District and State Trooper of the Year awards, which the Patrol will announce at a later date.
