A Columbus man arraigned Wednesday on a felonious assault charge is also carrying a second felony case that sheriff’s records already show in Franklin County Common Pleas Court, according to court and jail records.
Davonte Edwards, 25, is charged in case 2026 CR A 019053 with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, at the grade alleging a victim was seriously harmed, and aggravated riot, a fourth-degree felony, at the grade alleging a violent offense, according to the Franklin County Municipal Court arraignment sheet. Three other men were arraigned the same morning in their own cases on the same pair of charges; the sheet does not say whether the cases are connected.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office records show Edwards was arrested November 3, 2026, and booked into the Franklin County Corrections Center at James A. Karnes (booking 20261103034), with bond not set. The same sheriff record lists a Common Pleas case, 26CR6435, carrying felonious assault with specifications and aggravated riot counts.
The arraignment sheet gives no facts about the underlying incident and identifies no other person. Edwards is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
