SCIOTO COUNTY, OH — A Wheelersburg woman was recently taken into custody on a warrant, according to jail records.
Cassandra N. Cooley, 39, of Wheelersburg, was booked into the Scioto County Jail on April 29, 2026, on a charge of Failure to Appear (Issuance of Warrant).
Court records show Cooley was previously charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI), a first-degree misdemeanor, stemming from a July 3, 2025 traffic stop conducted by Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Trent Thompson.
According to those records, Cooley was scheduled to appear for a pre-trial hearing on August 5, 2025, but failed to appear. A bench warrant was subsequently issued on August 8, 2025.
While the jail charge references a failure to appear warrant, it is not explicitly confirmed in available records that the warrant is directly tied to the OVI case, though the timeline appears consistent.
Cooley had previously been appointed a public defender after being found indigent by the court.
The case remains pending.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
