WELLSTON MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AFTER FAILURE TO SERVE JAIL SENTENCE IN CHILLICOTHE CASE

A Wellston man was taken into custody on April 1, 2026, after a warrant was served stemming from a failure to comply with court-ordered sentencing in Chillicothe Municipal Court.

According to court records, the case was originally filed on September 25, 2024. The defendant initially entered a not guilty plea and was released on his own recognizance.

On October 16, 2024, the defendant later entered a no contest plea and was found guilty. The court imposed a $100 fine along with $311 in suspended costs and a 14-day suspended jail sentence. As part of the sentence, he was ordered to have no drugs or alcohol.

Court records show the defendant later violated the conditions of his sentence, leading to a warrant being issued on January 29, 2025, for a violation of conditions of sentence.

He appeared in court in March 2025 for a show cause hearing related to the violation and was released, with the matter set for a final probation violation hearing.

On April 9, 2025, the court formally entered a violation of conditions of sentence.

A second warrant was issued on June 3, 2025, after the defendant failed to serve a 60-day jail sentence. The court ordered the sentence to be served and noted the defendant was not bondable.

The warrant remained active until April 1, 2026, when court records show the e-warrant was served, resulting in the defendant being taken into custody.

Court records also reflect multiple address changes throughout the case, including a listed address in Wellston.

This case remains part of the public record through Chillicothe Municipal Court.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
