HOCKING COUNTY, OH — A search for a wanted man led Hocking County deputies to suspected fentanyl, alleged drug-trafficking evidence, and property believed to have been stolen from Delaware County.
According to the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Hock-Hocking Road on August 7 while attempting to locate 35-year-old Levi Koch, who had an active arrest warrant.
Deputies located Koch at the residence and reportedly observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. Detectives then obtained a search warrant for the property.
During the search, deputies reported locating suspected fentanyl and other narcotics, along with evidence believed to be associated with drug trafficking.
Sheriff Lanny E. North said deputies also recovered a stolen dump trailer and a large quantity of suspected stolen tools and equipment originating from Powell, Ohio, in Delaware County.
Koch was taken into custody and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on the active warrant.
The suspected drugs and narcotics will be submitted to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation laboratory for testing and identification.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation into the suspected drug trafficking and stolen property remains ongoing. The release did not announce any additional charges stemming from the search.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
