Released June 1, Back Behind Bars by June 25: Parole Holder Lands Ohio Man in Ross County Jail

A man released from an Ohio prison earlier this month has been returned to custody on a parole holder, according to jail records.

Joshua P. Roach, 33, was booked into the Ross County Jail on June 25, 2026, on behalf of the Adult Parole Authority. Jail records indicate he is being held without bond on a parole holder.

Records from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction show Roach was released from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility on June 1, 2026, and placed under Adult Parole Authority supervision through the Chillicothe APA office for a three-year period of supervision.

Court records show Roach had been serving a prison sentence stemming from a Richland County conviction for Failure to Provide Notice of Change of Address, a second-degree felony. Records also reflect a judicial sanction associated with that case.

More recently, Warren County court records show Roach was convicted of Assault in February 2025. Two additional charges filed in that case—Harassment with a Bodily Substance and Criminal Damaging or Endangering—were dismissed. He was sentenced to a prison term on the assault conviction.

State correctional records listed June 1, 2026, as Roach’s expected release date. Less than one month later, he was taken into custody by parole authorities and lodged in the Ross County Jail on a parole holder.

As of June 29, Roach remained incarcerated pending action by the Adult Parole Authority. Jail records reviewed by Hopewell Heritage Headlines do not specify the alleged parole violation that resulted in the hold.

A parole holder is an administrative detention order used by parole authorities and does not, by itself, constitute a new criminal conviction.
