Piketon native Beau “Shogun” Romine is giving south central Ohio fans another reason to stand tall. The 6-foot-1 heavyweight and former Pike County law enforcement officer will battle JR Cochran of Marmet, West Virginia, for the vacant NLC Heavyweight Boxing Title in the co-main event of NLC Fight Night 47.
The action takes place Saturday, July 18, at 6 p.m. inside The Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport, West Virginia. Romine enters as the promotion’s top-ranked fighter in the division. Cochran sits at number three. Both men bring power and experience to what promises to be a hard-hitting regional showdown.
Romine’s path to this moment reflects the grit of the area he calls home. A two-time Toughman champion with knockout wins in both amateur boxing and kickboxing, he made his mark quickly. His most recent outing ended in a first-round TKO victory. Before focusing fully on combat sports, he served his community as a corporal and deputy with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office. That chapter of public service continues to inspire those who know his story.
