A Chillicothe woman was arrested on a domestic violence charge following an incident at a residence on Brennan Road, according to a report from the Chillicothe Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the home shortly before 11:30 p.m. on July 8 for a reported domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police spoke with a 17-year-old juvenile and her father, who alleged that 44-year-old Emilie S. Longpre attacked the teen from behind while she was in a laundry room.
According to the report, the juvenile told officers Longpre grabbed her by the hair, dragged her to the ground, and repeatedly struck her in the face. The teen also reported suffering a scratch to her leg during the altercation. A witness at the residence told police he heard the juvenile yelling for help and intervened by pulling Longpre away.
When questioned by officers, Longpre reportedly denied pulling the juvenile down by her hair or being on top of her, but admitted she had slapped her once. The report indicates the dispute may have stemmed from ongoing tensions between the two.
Police documented an injury to the juvenile’s leg and, based on witness statements and the victim’s account, placed Longpre under arrest on a charge of domestic violence.
Longpre was transported to the Ross County Jail and held pending an appearance in Chillicothe Municipal Court. The report notes she had no prior domestic violence convictions on record at the time of the arrest.
As with all criminal charges, the allegations remain accusations until proven in court.
