Ohio Attorney General Praises Montgomery County Human Trafficking Investigation

Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson is publicly commending the work of the Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force following the arrest and indictment of a Montgomery County man accused of multiple human trafficking-related offenses.

In a social media post Saturday, Wilson highlighted the efforts of the task force, which operates as part of the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission (OOCIC), stating, “Great work by the Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.”

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, 69-year-old Ronald Skinner was arrested following a long-term human trafficking investigation that began in 2025. Skinner was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury on June 18, 2026, on multiple felony charges.

The indictment includes:

  • Four counts of Trafficking in Persons (Compulsion to Involuntary Servitude), first-degree felonies
  • One count of Kidnapping (Terrorize/Physical Harm) with a Human Trafficking Specification, a first-degree felony
  • Four counts of Compelling Prostitution, third-degree felonies
  • Two counts of Promoting Prostitution, fourth-degree felonies
  • One count of Possession of Cocaine, a fifth-degree felony
  • One count of Possession of Heroin, a fifth-degree felony

Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck said protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation remains a top priority and emphasized that those involved in human trafficking and related crimes will continue to face aggressive investigation and prosecution.

The Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force is a collaborative effort involving the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, Butler Township Police Department, Oakwood Public Safety Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Wilson’s public praise of the operation marks one of the first high-profile endorsements by Ohio’s new Attorney General of a local human trafficking investigation, highlighting the state’s continued focus on combating organized criminal activity and protecting trafficking victims.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
