SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio — Law enforcement officers from several Ohio agencies came together in South Bloomfield in August for hands-on training conducted by Frontline Tactical, a law-enforcement training company founded by Chillicothe native Isaac Steele.
The course, Subject Control: Vehicle Extractions & Team Control, focused on practical skills officers can use during physical encounters, including subject control, takedowns, arrest tactics, team-based control techniques and removing subjects from vehicles.
Officers representing multiple agencies participated in the training. Agencies known to have been represented included the Chillicothe Police Department, Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, Delaware Police Department and South Bloomfield Police Department, along with personnel from additional agencies.

Steele was joined by guest instructors Jacob JoHansen and Adam Pollitt, both of whom currently work in law enforcement and have backgrounds in competitive combat sports. Both remain active competitors, bringing experience from both law enforcement and ongoing hands-on competition into the training environment.
Frontline Tactical says its approach is centered around realistic subject-control training that officers can take back to their respective agencies and apply in the field. The company has said it is continuing to refine its courses while expanding training opportunities to agencies throughout Ohio and beyond.
Feedback from officers who have previously attended Frontline Tactical training has highlighted the instructors’ experience and the practical nature of the courses.
In testimonials shared by Frontline Tactical, one law enforcement officer described the instructors as knowledgeable and professional, while emphasizing the real-world law enforcement experience incorporated into the training. Another attendee said techniques were clearly explained and demonstrated, with an emphasis on how they could be applied during real-life encounters.
A third attendee recommended the company’s subject-control training for both newer officers and those looking to sharpen existing defensive-tactics skills, highlighting what the attendee described as an emphasis on professionalism, safety and quality instruction.
For Steele, the August course also represented a local connection. The Chillicothe native has a background in law enforcement and professional mixed martial arts and founded Frontline Tactical with a focus on practical training.
The South Bloomfield course brought officers from different jurisdictions together to work through the same subject-control and vehicle-extraction techniques while training alongside personnel outside their own departments.
Frontline Tactical says it plans to continue growing its training program and bringing courses directly to law enforcement agencies throughout Ohio and across the country.
