GREENFIELD, Ohio – McClain High School is one of 40 finalists in T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights contest, and fans have until Sunday, Oct. 25, to vote.
McClain is the only Ohio school still in the contest. It has already earned $25,000 and a T-Mobile-hosted home game. As of mid-October it led the Midwest Division, according to Greenfield Exempted Village Schools athletic officials.
The school with the most votes in each of the four divisions wins $250,000, a Gronk Fitness gym and a $5,000 student leadership award. Those four division winners will be announced Oct. 29, and a final round of voting from Oct. 29 through Nov. 8 decides which school wins a $1 million home field upgrade.
Superintendent Quincey Gray has said the money would go toward major improvements to McClain’s athletic field.
Fans can vote once a day at www.t-mobile.com/brand/friday-night-5g-lights by choosing the Midwest Division and McClain. A mobile number is needed to verify the first vote.
