A morning coffee stop in Hillsboro next week will help put Christmas gifts in the hands of Highland County kids.

The Coffee Corral will set up at the Highland County Sheriff’s Office on Homestead Avenue on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 6:30 to 11 a.m., and will donate 10 percent of its sales to the sheriff’s office’s Shop with a Cop program, according to a flyer the sheriff’s office shared.

The sheriff’s office is inviting residents to stop by, meet deputies and support the program. “Support a great cause!” the office posted. “Come out, say hello, and help us make a difference for kids in our community!”

The flyer also thanks area police, fire and EMS personnel for their service.

Shop with a Cop pairs officers with children from families facing financial hardship for a holiday shopping trip. The program is paid for through community donations and fundraisers like this one.
