Ross County Man Faces Multiple Charges Following June Arrest

A Frankfort Ohio man is facing multiple criminal charges after being arrested and booked into the Ross County Jail on June 16.

According to jail records, 26-year-old Dakota Lane Richards was taken into custody during the early morning hours of June 16. Court records show three separate criminal cases were filed the same day in Chillicothe Municipal Court, charging Richards with domestic violence, child endangering, and obstructing official business.

The domestic violence charge was filed under case number CRB2600930A. Court records indicate Richards entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment and was released on a $5,000 recognizance bond. As part of the bond conditions, he was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim or the victim’s residence and to comply with Children’s Services requirements. Court records further state he may retrieve personal belongings within seven days of release when accompanied by a uniformed law enforcement officer and with reasonable notice.

Separate cases filed the same day charge Richards with child endangering and obstructing official business. Both charges remain pending before the court.

Jail records list Richards as being held in the Ross County Jail following his arrest. The circumstances leading to the charges were not detailed in the court records reviewed by Hopewell Heritage Headlines.

All charges are allegations, and Richards is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Pretrial proceedings are scheduled to continue later this month in Chillicothe Municipal Court.
