PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 is still running construction that can slow Pike County traffic this fall. Weekly project lists change with weather. The department tells drivers to check OHGO.com or District 9 social accounts before they leave.
A summer construction notice that listed fall 2026 completion dates included these Pike County impacts:
State Route 32 intersection improvement between Smokey Hollow Road and Chenoweth Fork Road, with lane closures. The SR 32 and SR 124 intersection was listed as closed, with a posted detour using SR 772, SR 220, SR 552, SR 104, and back to SR 32. Estimated completion: fall 2026.
State Route 124 culvert replacement between SR 772 and Jasper Road, reduced to one lane and held by a temporary signal. Estimated completion was listed as summer 2026, so drivers should confirm whether that work is finished.
U.S. 23 intersection work near Pride Drive had been listed with lane closures and a summer 2026 estimate.
All of that work is weather permitting. A project that was supposed to wrap in summer can still have punch-list or paving days in September.

District 9 covers south-central Ohio, including Pike and Ross counties. Local commuters who use SR 32 to reach Jackson, Chillicothe, or Portsmouth should treat that corridor as a work zone until ODOT marks the intersection project complete.
