Pike County is hosting UH-60 Black Hawk terrain training for the next 30 days. That means low-level and contour flying over local terrain so crews can practice operating in the kind of country they would see on an actual mission. Expect to hear the helicopters they are loud.
This kind of joint work is useful. Local responders learn the aircraft’s hazards and capabilities; the aircrews get familiar with the people and landing sites they may need in a rescue, medevac, or disaster. Good coordination on a training day makes a difference when it counts.
