Ross County

Two arrests at the same Adams Avenue house on back-to-back days are connected, according to Chillicothe police reports: a protection order arrest on Friday, then a burglary arrest on Saturday involving the mother of the first man’s child.

Friday: the protection order arrest

Jasten Kolle, 24, was arrested Friday, Oct. 16 at 857 Adams Ave. after Ross County probation officers found him at the home of Samantha Litz. Litz holds two protection orders against Kolle, one from Chillicothe Municipal Court served in August 2025 and one from Ross County Common Pleas Court served Oct. 1, 2025.

According to the report, Litz told officers she had five teeth removed and had called and texted Kolle to come help with the children because her medication made her tired. The responding officer initially did not arrest Kolle because Litz had invited him and had no complaint. After verifying the orders and confirming the children were covered parties, the officer returned and arrested him. Kolle told an officer that a hearing is set for November and that Litz plans to ask for the protection order to be dropped. He was held in the Ross County Jail for a court date on Monday, Oct. 19.

Saturday: the burglary charge

The next afternoon, Saturday, Oct. 17, police were called back to 857 Adams Ave. on a burglary report. Officers detained Mackenzi Lanman, 21, outside the house. According to the report, Lanman is the mother of one of Kolle’s children, and Litz said Lanman was upset that Kolle had been arrested at the house the day before.

Litz told police Lanman knocked loudly on the front door, tried to push a window air conditioning unit into the house, then kicked the front door in. Litz said Lanman threw a pumpkin from the patio into the house, where it broke apart against a wall, then came inside spraying water from a bottle, getting some on one of the children, and tried to provoke Litz into coming outside to fight. Litz had recently had teeth removed and stayed inside with her children. No one was hurt.

Lanman’s sister, who had driven her to the house, told officers she did not know why they were going there and believed it had something to do with Kolle. Lanman told officers Litz had been posting about her on social media and had messaged her on Snapchat daring her to show up. Lanman said she banged on the door with her fist and it came open, and she acknowledged throwing the pumpkin and the water bottle inside.

Lanman was charged with burglary, for allegedly trespassing in an occupied home, and booked into the Ross County Jail.

Both charges are allegations, and Kolle and Lanman are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
