CHILLICOTHE, Ohio. Sen. Jon Husted visited Mary Lou Patton Park this week to look at a $1.5 million federal award for the east-side park, Scioto Valley Youth League Softball said.

The award was already in the fiscal 2026 funding package Husted’s office listed earlier this year: $1.5 million for the city’s Mary Lou Patton Park infrastructure project. The listed work is drainage, traffic flow, parking, green space, and other park infrastructure.

The youth league, which uses the park every year, thanked Husted for the visit and said the work should help families and athletes who spend the season there. The same funding list included $1.5 million for a Chillicothe Street housing project in Portsmouth.

Husted’s office posted the award breakdown at husted.senate.gov.
