Hilliard Man, 35, Charged With Second-Degree Felony in Franklin County Minor-Material Case

Two defendants, in two separate Franklin County Sheriff’s Office cases, stood for arraignment Friday on the same pair of felony counts under Ohio’s statute on sexually oriented matter involving a minor.

Joseph King, 35, of Hilliard, is charged in case 2026 CR A 018728 with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, a second-degree felony alleging advertising, selling, or distributing such material, and a fourth-degree felony count alleging soliciting, receiving, or purchasing it, according to court records. The sheriff’s booking record gives his full name as Joseph Duwane King. The court record does not say whether his case is connected to the similar case arraigned the same morning, describes no underlying facts, and identifies no minor.

King was arrested October 29, 2026, and booked into the jail at James A. Karnes (booking 20261029022), sheriff’s records show. Bond was not set on either count at arraignment in courtroom 4D.

King is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. His next step is a grand jury review in Franklin County.
