A Waverly man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty in Ross County Common Pleas Court to a felony charge stemming from a failure to comply case.
According to court records, 48-year-old Bradley M. Steele of Waverly pleaded guilty to one count of Failure to Comply with the Order or Signal of a Police Officer, a third-degree felony under Ohio law.
The case was filed on April 9, 2026. After the exchange of discovery and subsequent court proceedings, Steele entered a guilty plea during a plea hearing held in May.
On May 15, Ross County Common Pleas Judge Matthew S. Schmidt accepted Steele’s guilty plea and imposed a sentence of 24 months in prison. Court records further show Steele received a lifetime Class II driver’s license suspension. The court waived costs and ordered the release of Steele’s bond.
Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction records show Steele was admitted to the Correctional Reception Center on May 29 and is currently incarcerated. His projected release date is listed as May 13, 2028.
The case has since been closed following sentencing.
