A Chillicothe woman is back in custody at the Ross County Jail after authorities say she failed to appear in court on a theft-related case.
According to records filed in Chillicothe Municipal Court, 39-year-old Sunshine Marie Eblin, of Trego Creek Road, was charged with theft under Ohio Revised Code 2913.02, a first-degree misdemeanor, by Deputy Taylor Jackson with the Ross County Sheriffs Office.
Court records show the case was filed on May 1, 2026, with an arraignment originally scheduled for May 7. However, docket entries indicate Eblin failed to appear for a May 8 hearing, leading the court to issue a warrant on May 20.
The warrant was later served by the Chillicothe Police Department on May 25, according to court documents. Jail records show Eblin was booked into the Ross County Jail during the early morning hours of May 25 on a theft-related charge.
The case has since been scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on June 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
Court records indicate Eblin is currently being held on a $2,500 bond.
As with all criminal cases, the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
