Kidnapping charged as a first-degree felony brought a 27-year-old Blacklick man before a Franklin County Municipal Court judge on Monday morning.

Shakeem Taylor is charged in case 2026 CR A 018445 with one count of kidnapping, at the grade alleging the victim’s liberty was restrained, according to court records. The court record does not describe the underlying incident and does not identify any other person involved.

Sheriff’s records show Taylor was arrested on October 25, 2026, and booked into the Franklin County Corrections Center at James A. Karnes (booking 20261025052), with the kidnapping count listed on his booking. Bond had not been set as of his arraignment in courtroom 4D.

Taylor is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The case is expected to go before a Franklin County grand jury, which will decide whether to indict and transfer it to the Court of Common Pleas.
