ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A 51-year-old Bainbridge man with a history of outstanding warrants is facing additional criminal charges following an October 6, 2026, arrest by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.

Scott M. Binegar was booked into the Ross County Jail on October 6 at approximately 8:44 p.m., following an encounter with deputies that resulted in new allegations of resisting arrest and obstructing official business.

According to Chillicothe Municipal Court records, Binegar’s warrant history includes 14 inactive warrants, while the court’s online docket currently lists no active warrants.

Binegar was booked on four charges, including resisting arrest, obstructing official business, leaving the scene of an accident, and having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.

The resisting arrest charge, a second-degree misdemeanor under Ohio Revised Code 2921.33, was filed October 7. Deputy Taylor Jackson of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office is identified in court records as the complainant.

Previous Hit-Skip Case

Among Binegar’s previous legal matters is a hit-skip case stemming from an alleged incident on May 9, 2026.

Court records indicate that Binegar was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor violation of Ohio Revised Code 4549.02, which involves failing to stop following a motor vehicle accident.

The charge was filed May 11, 2026, with Deputy B. Woodbridge of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office identified as the complainant.

Both the previous hit-skip case and the newly filed resisting arrest case are scheduled for hearings on October 23, 2026, at 1 p.m., in Chillicothe Municipal Court.

While jail records confirm the additional charges following Binegar’s October arrest, the specific circumstances of his interaction with deputies have not yet been detailed in the records reviewed.

Binegar was listed as being held in the Ross County Jail as of the October 7 custody update.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
