A Powell man was arraigned Saturday in Franklin County Municipal Court on a second-degree felony assault charge that alleges another person was seriously harmed.
Nicolas Bennington, 46, is charged in case 2026 CR A 018773 with felonious assault, according to court records. The case is listed under Columbus jurisdiction. The arraignment sheet does not describe what happened, where it happened, or who was hurt.
Sheriff’s records show Bennington was arrested October 30, 2026, and booked at James A. Karnes (booking 20261030013), with bond not set at his courtroom 4D arraignment.
Bennington is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. His felony filing now goes to a Franklin County grand jury, which will decide whether an indictment issues.
