An 18-year-old Columbus man was arraigned Tuesday in Franklin County Municipal Court on a robbery charge built around an allegation that a deadly weapon was involved.
Wayne Erwin is charged in case 2026 CR A 018498 with robbery, a second-degree felony, at the grade alleging a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance was on or about the suspect or under the suspect’s control, according to court records. The arraignment sheet does not describe the incident behind the charge, and no further facts were available in the court record Tuesday.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office records show Erwin was arrested on October 26, 2026, and booked into the Franklin County Corrections Center at James A. Karnes (booking 20261026052). Bond had not been set in the case as of his arraignment in courtroom 4D.
Erwin is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The case is expected to go before a Franklin County grand jury, which will decide whether to indict and transfer it to the Court of Common Pleas.
Heritage Headlines is seeking the police report in this case and will update this story as records are released.
