CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A woman was arrested Sunday after authorities say she refused to leave a homeless shelter on Eastern Avenue in Chillicothe.

According to a Ross County Sheriff’s Office report, Deputy JoHansen was dispatched to the homeless shelter at 804 Eastern Avenue at approximately 11:29 a.m. on October 4 regarding a female subject who was reportedly refusing to leave.

The incident resulted in the arrest of Lashawna Jo Penrod, 41, on charges of criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and drug paraphernalia.

Jail records show Penrod was booked into the Ross County Jail shortly after noon. The listed charges are misdemeanors, with criminal trespass and drug paraphernalia listed as fourth-degree misdemeanors and resisting arrest listed as a second-degree misdemeanor.
