Eight Cases, 16 Charges in 30 Days: Ross County Man Back in Jail

A Ross County man who has accumulated multiple criminal and traffic cases over the past month is once again behind bars following a new domestic violence arrest.

According to jail records, Stanley W. Mitchell, 42, was booked into the Ross County Jail on June 16. He is being held on a charge of domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor alleging he knowingly caused physical harm to another person.

The arrest comes after a series of criminal and traffic filings in Chillicothe Municipal Court over a roughly 30-day period.

Court records show Mitchell has been involved in eight separate criminal and traffic cases filed between May 18 and June 16. While several of those cases contain multiple charges under the same case number, the filings collectively account for 16 separate charges.

The charges filed during that period include inducing panic, domestic violence, disorderly conduct, disorderly intoxication, menacing, criminal trespass, expired registration, and multiple OVI-related offenses.

One case filed on May 26 included charges of inducing panic, domestic violence, and disorderly intoxication. Court records also show a separate OVI-related case filed the same day that included charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, OVI refusal, driving under an FRA suspension, marked lanes, and a seat belt violation.

Additional filings followed in early June, including separate disorderly intoxication cases and another case alleging menacing, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct.

The latest domestic violence arrest on June 16 marks the eighth separate case identified through court and jail records during the month-long span.

All charges remain allegations, and Mitchell is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
