A 22-year-old Columbus man spent the weekend in the Franklin County jail ahead of a Monday arraignment on a felony abduction charge.

Nevereon Long is charged in case 2026 CR A 018892 with abduction, a third-degree felony at the grade alleging he restrained the liberty of another person, according to court records. The arraignment sheet describes no incident behind the charge and identifies no other person.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office records give his full name as Nevereon Maland-Nicolas Long and show he was arrested October 31, 2026, and booked into the Franklin County Corrections Center at James A. Karnes (booking 20261031039), with bond not set as of his appearance in courtroom 4D.

Long is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The next step for a municipal court felony filing is review by a Franklin County grand jury.

We are seeking the report behind this filing and will follow the case as it moves forward.
