ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A woman was booked into the Ross County Jail Saturday following an incident in Ross County, according to publicly available jail and incident records.
Chelsey J. Knisley, 37, was booked into the Ross County Jail on August 29, 2026, at approximately 4:15 p.m., according to jail records. Her listed charges include third-degree felony domestic violence, fourth-degree felony assault, resisting arrest, violating a protection order or consent agreement, and criminal trespass.
A separate Ross County Sheriff’s Office incident entry from the same day shows deputies were dispatched to Ragged Ridge Road in Frankfort at approximately 2:17 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute.
According to the brief incident narrative, the responding deputy made contact with a caller who reported that his granddaughter had been assaulted by her mother. The entry states that an investigation was then initiated.
The incident entry lists alleged offenses of violating a protection order or consent agreement, assault, resisting arrest and domestic violence — charges that correspond with several of those appearing in Knisley’s jail booking record.
However, the records currently available do not explicitly identify Knisley as the person involved in the Ragged Ridge Road incident. While the date, timing and listed offenses closely correspond, Hopewell Heritage Headlines has not obtained an incident report or other record directly linking Knisley’s booking to that particular call.
Jail records show Knisley was taken into custody by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office. Most of the listed charges currently show no bond, while the criminal trespass charge lists a $750 cash-or-surety bond.
The allegations are accusations only, and Knisley is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
