CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Mandy Day learned nursing at Ohio University Chillicothe. Now she is teaching it there.

Day, a Waverly native who went by Mandy Stanley in school, earned her associate degree in nursing from OHIO Chillicothe in 2003 at 19, according to the university. She finished her bachelor’s in nursing in 2009 through one of the campus’s early online programs.

She worked 13 years as a school nurse, then earned a master’s degree in nursing education from Mount Carmel College of Nursing.

Day is now a clinical instructor guiding OHIO Chillicothe nursing students through their clinical rotations. She also works as an outpatient educator for Adena Health System, training nurses and medical assistants at Adena’s outpatient sites.

She told the university that returning to campus feels like coming home.
