ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Two women were booked into the Ross County Jail early Wednesday morning, October 1, on felony drug charges, according to jail records.
Brittany N. Souders, 39, was booked into the jail at approximately 12:39 a.m. Records list two fourth-degree felony charges: possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs. The arresting officer is listed as Taylor Jackson.
Less than an hour later, Linsey N. Kifer, 41, was booked at approximately 1:10 a.m. Kifer is also listed as facing fourth-degree felony charges of possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs. Derek Sutton is listed as the arresting officer.
Both arrests are listed under Ross County, and the jail records currently show no bond entered for either woman.
Ross County Sheriff’s Office records show that shortly before the two women were booked, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on US-23 near Main Street in Chillicothe. According to the sheriff’s office, both the driver and passenger were arrested after deputies located what was described as a “significant amount of narcotics.” While the publicly available incident entry does not identify the two individuals involved in the stop, two women were subsequently booked into the Ross County Jail on identical felony drug possession and trafficking charges.
The charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
