EL PASO, Texas — Three students were stabbed Friday morning at Americas High School in El Paso, according to El Paso County Sheriff’s officials.
The incident occurred as students were arriving for class, according to the Socorro Independent School District.
Officials said the students involved have been identified and their parents were notified directly. The alleged aggressor was taken into custody by Socorro Independent School District police.
Emergency crews responded to the school, including a FireSTAR helicopter. The injured students were transported to a hospital for evaluation and treatment and were reported to be in stable condition.
The school was initially placed on lockdown following the incident. That lockdown has since been lifted, although the campus remained on hold while authorities continued investigating.
School officials said all other students and staff were safe and remained under the supervision of faculty and staff.
