ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County man is back in custody following a parole violation, according to jail records.
Thomas J. McCray, 44, was arrested on May 1, 2026, and is currently being held on a charge of violating parole. He is being held without bond.
McCray was convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter in a case involving a Chillicothe Woman from the early 2000’s.
According to records from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, McCray has a prior criminal history in Ross County that includes multiple serious felony convictions. Those convictions include:
- Aggravated Robbery (F1)
- Rape (F1)
- Kidnapping (F1)
- Involuntary Manslaughter (F1)
- Endangering Children (F2)
Court records show those offenses stem from cases in the early 2000s, with multiple prison sentences imposed, including both concurrent and consecutive terms.
McCray had been under APA (Adult Parole Authority) supervision prior to his recent arrest.
