ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County man is back behind bars on new charges just days after Chillicothe Municipal Court Judge Keith Washburn approved his release on an unsecured bond in a separate felony case.
Kyle A. Hurley was arrested on August 15 and booked into the Ross County Jail at approximately 7:31 p.m., according to jail records.
Hurley is now being held on a fourth-degree felony charge of theft of a motor vehicle along with a charge of disorderly conduct – physically offensive condition. Jail records currently list no bond on the felony theft charge.
The latest arrest comes only days after Hurley appeared in Chillicothe Municipal Court in connection with a separate fourth-degree felony failure-to-comply charge stemming from an alleged July 31 incident involving the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Court records show the failure-to-comply case was filed August 3. Hurley initially faced a $100,000 cash/surety/real-estate bond.
The court docket subsequently shows Hurley was released on a $15,000 unsecured appearance bond. Judge Keith Washburn presided over the case. Conditions of Hurley’s release included no drugs or alcohol, restrictions on driving, a mental-health evaluation and follow-up, GPS monitoring, and reporting to probation upon release.
Hurley was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 10.
Just five days later, Hurley was arrested again — this time on the new felony motor-vehicle-theft and disorderly-conduct charges.
Hurley remained listed as being held in the Ross County Jail as of August 16.
The new charges are separate from Hurley’s pending failure-to-comply case.
All charges are allegations, and Hurley is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
