On Oct. 1, the Pike County General Health District took over the county’s WIC program after the Community Action Committee relinquished it, winning the Ohio Department of Health grant.
Services stayed at 715 W. Emmitt Ave. in Waverly on the same schedule, with no immediate staffing changes, according to Health Commissioner Matt Brewster. He has talked about eventually co-locating WIC with the district’s other offices.
A month into the handoff, the natural question is how it is going for the families who rely on it.
