CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A disorderly crowd outside a downtown Chillicothe bar prompted multiple police responses during the early morning hours of October 25, 2026, ultimately resulting in one man being taken into custody.
According to a Chillicothe Police Department report, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:45 a.m. to Crosskeys Bar and Tavern, located at 19 East Main Street, after receiving reports of a large crowd acting disorderly and potentially preparing to fight.
When officers initially arrived, they encountered a group of individuals outside the establishment. Police instructed the crowd to disperse, and most complied.
During the initial response, officers encountered Austin Isaac Dulaney, who reportedly displayed confrontational behavior toward officers. According to Officer Brayden Woodbridge, Dulaney had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him and was warned that he could be taken to jail if his behavior continued. Dulaney eventually left the area, and officers cleared the scene.
However, police were called back shortly afterward following additional reports of disorderly behavior and individuals potentially fighting.
Upon returning, officers located Dulaney again, this time reportedly arguing with several people outside the bar, yelling, and using profanity. Police stated that Dulaney continued behaving aggressively despite repeated warnings.
Officer Justin Tuttle reported that Dulaney was also involved in a confrontation inside the bar. According to Tuttle, Dulaney stood in a confrontational stance and loudly challenged others to fight.
Officers attempted to escort Dulaney outside and calm the situation. However, police reported that he continued acting aggressively, eventually pulling away from officers as they attempted to detain him.
Dulaney was subsequently placed in handcuffs and secured in the rear of a police cruiser. Officer Woodbridge reported that Dulaney continued yelling and slamming his body against the cruiser door, causing the vehicle to rock.
Due to his continued behavior and the reported risk of harm to himself and others, Dulaney was transported to the Ross County Jail, where he was booked in on a charge of Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication.
Police records indicate that Dulaney was issued a summons and given a court date of November 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Chillicothe Municipal Court.
The incident was documented under Chillicothe Police Department case number PD-P2604424.
All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
