The Circleville Police Department has a new officer on the force.

Officer Thomas O’Malley has joined the department as a lateral transfer, the City of Circleville announced Monday. A lateral transfer means he is an already-certified officer coming to Circleville from another department.

The city said the hire brings the Circleville Police Department one step closer to achieving its goal of full staffing.

“We are excited to have him on the team and look forward to the positive impact he will make,” the city said in its announcement. “Welcome to CPD, Officer O’Malley.”
