Sixth grade, a badge, and the same officer. Chillicothe Middle School says D.A.R.E. is underway for sixth graders, and that Officer Boltenhouse is the one in the room.
The school describes lessons on healthy choices, peer pressure, confidence and decisions that travel outside the building. Classroom photos show a Chillicothe officer at the front, a screen of program graphics behind him, and students at desks with water bottles and notebooks.
Boltenhouse is not new to the assignment. In February 2021 the Chillicothe Police Department said D.A.R.E. Officer Tim Boltenhouse had started the course with sixth graders at the intermediate school. The program name is Drug Abuse Resistance Education.
