New Lexington Man Served on Nearly Five-Year-Old Protection Order Warrant

A New Lexington man was recently served with a warrant stemming from an alleged protection order violation that dates back to 2021, according to records obtained from the Chillicothe Police Department.

The case began on Aug. 9, 2021, when a woman reported that her daughter had received Instagram messages and an email allegedly sent by Elvis Green, 47, of New Lexington. According to the report, both the woman and her daughter were protected parties under a civil stalking protection order issued by the Ross County Court of Common Pleas.

Investigators documented allegations that messages were sent despite the active protection order prohibiting contact. The complainant provided screenshots of the communications, and officers attempted to contact Green during the investigation.

On Aug. 10, 2021, police sought a warrant charging Green with violating a protection order, a first-degree misdemeanor under Ohio law. Court records show the case was filed in Chillicothe Municipal Court on Aug. 11, 2021, and a warrant was issued shortly thereafter.

A supplemental report entered on May 31, 2022, noted that the warrant had been verified but remained outstanding.

The warrant remained active for years before authorities located Green in Hocking County. According to a June 10, 2026, report supplement, Green was transported from Hocking County to the Ross County Jail, where he was served with the warrant and provided a copy of the protection order before being released without incident.

Court records continue to list the warrant as active pending further proceedings.

As with all criminal cases, the charge is an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
