Lock Your Car: Two Vehicle Break-Ins on Church Street the Same Day

Ross County

Chillicothe police logs show two vehicle break-ins were reported on the same street on Sunday, October 18, and officers are reminding drivers to lock up.

The first report came in at 8:04 a.m. Sunday. A vehicle had been entered overnight in the 200 block of Church Street, according to Chillicothe police logs.

Later that same day, a theft from a vehicle at 297 Church Street was reported at 6:54 p.m.

The logs in what was released do not list what, if anything, was taken in either case, and police have not said the two reports are connected.

Even so, two reports in one day on the same street are a good reminder for the whole neighborhood. Police regularly remind residents to lock car doors, even in a driveway, take valuables inside at night, and not leave bags, electronics or loose change where they can be seen through a window.

Anyone who saw something unusual on Church Street on Sunday, or who finds a car has been entered, is asked to report it to the Chillicothe Police Department so officers can track the pattern.
