CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Kentucky woman was taken into custody Friday after Chillicothe police discovered she was wanted on an out-of-state warrant while assisting her during a traffic stop.
According to a Chillicothe Police Department report, officers conducted a traffic stop on East Main Street shortly after 1 p.m. on August 8.
During the encounter, Officer Abigail Tomlison reported she was helping 64-year-old Jamie Elizabeth Abuatieh locate her phone and keys when she ran Abuatieh’s information through LEADS. The check reportedly revealed an active Kentucky warrant related to new charges of burglary and public intoxication.
Police contacted dispatch to verify the warrant, and authorities confirmed it was active, according to the report.
Abuatieh was then arrested and transported to the Ross County Jail, where she was being held as a fugitive from justice pending further proceedings related to the Kentucky warrant.
Jail records show Abuatieh was booked at approximately 1:55 p.m. on August 8 on a fugitive-from-justice charge with no bond listed at the time of the record.
The allegations contained in police and jail records are accusations. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
