Franklin Township, OH – Franklin Township police said officers answered three mental health crises in the past two weeks, each involving a child or an adult who was considering suicide.
In each case, the department said, officers talked with the person and helped them reach care. The post did not name anyone.
The department said that part of the job is easy to miss. Officers answer crimes and dangerous calls, and they also sit with people at the worst moment.
Anyone in that spot can call or text 988, any hour, or chat at 988lifeline.org. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
