Crews Battle Working Fire at American Wood Fibers Plant in Circleville

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio \u2014 Fire crews spent Sunday morning battling a working fire at the American Wood Fibers plant in Circleville, drawing mutual aid from as far away as Grove City.

Jackson Township Ladder 202 and B202 were on the scene of the mutual aid working fire, Jackson Twp. Firefighters Local 2672 said in a post Sunday morning. “No other details at this time,” the union said.

Photos from the scene show Circleville and mutual aid aerial ladders up over the plant, firefighters working around the facility’s silo and ductwork, a rollup door torn and hanging open, and hoses stretched across the soaked lot.

American Wood Fibers makes wood fiber products, including wood pellets and animal bedding, at the Circleville plant.

There was no immediate word on injuries, a cause, or how much damage the fire did. This story will be updated as officials release more information.
