Costco’s New Whiskey Tour of America Box: Price, What’s Inside, and Whether It’s Worth Chasing

Costco shoppers who bought Gravity Drinks’ globe-trotting whiskey boxes in past holiday seasons now have a homegrown sequel. A first-edition set called A Whiskey Tour of America is turning up in warehouse liquor aisles, and inventory trackers have already posted a price.

It is not an official America 250 commemorative bottle in the way some 2026 patriotic decanters are. It is a U.S.-only tasting case arriving in the country’s 250th year, packed with real brand-name American whiskeys rather than house labels.

The first-edition A Whiskey Tour of America set from Gravity Drinks, spotted at Costco, with 24 x 50ml American whiskeys, a handmade wooden backbar case, two glasses, and a distillery guidebook.

What it costs

A Costco liquor inventory alert on Sept. 12, 2026 listed the set at $141.19 for 24 bottles of 50 milliliters each. That works out to about $5.88 per mini, plus the case, glasses, and book. Warehouse prices on earlier Gravity Drinks boxes have varied by store, so treat $141.19 as a reported ticket, not a nationwide guarantee.

What you actually get

Gravity Drinks, the same UK firm behind Costco’s earlier “Whisky Tour of the World” and “Tour of Scotland” sets, packaged this one as a reusable wooden backbar. The carton lists:

• 24 x 50 ml American whiskeys (1.2 liters total)

• A handmade wooden display case

• Two heavy whiskey glasses

• An illustrated distillery guidebook

• First Edition labeling

• Proof range of 90 to 120 (the inner spec sheet lists about 45% to 60.1% ABV)

• Distilled and bottled in the USA, with Bardstown, Kentucky listed on the packaging

The lineup is the selling point. These are commercial brands you can look up later, not anonymous samples. The printed roster includes Dark Arts, Virginia Distillery Co., Green River, Woodinville, Leiper’s Fork, New Riff, Lasso Motel, High Wire, Barrell, Nashville Barrel Co., Peerless, Highline, Kings County, FEW, Keeper’s Heart, Laws, Brothers of the Leaf, Pinhook, 2XO, St. George, Southern Distilling Co., Hard Truth, Shortbarrel, and Starlight. Styles run from Kentucky and Tennessee standards to Texas, Washington, California single malt, New York peated bourbon, and other craft bottles.

Is it limited, and does Costco do this every year?

Yes on the first part, with a caveat. The box is marked First Edition, which is Gravity Drinks’ usual playbook: a finite run, then a later edition if it sells. The company’s World and Scotland tours have returned to Costco in subsequent seasons, often around fall and the holidays, and leftover boxes have later been marked down. This America set looks like the same seasonal gift-pack model, not a permanent Kirkland item. Stock will be warehouse by warehouse, and it will only appear where Costco is allowed to sell spirits.

Ohio shoppers should not expect to find it in a local Costco liquor aisle. Ohio warehouses generally sell beer and wine only. Distilled spirits in Ohio move through the state’s control system and OHLQ agency stores, not typical Costco liquor departments. Buying or shipping spirits across state lines into Ohio is restricted. If you live here and want the set, the legal route is a licensed retailer that actually carries it, not a gray-market mail drop.

Collector value

Keep expectations grounded. An earlier Gravity “Tour of the World” first edition has sold at auction as a complete set, which shows some secondary interest in unopened presentation boxes. That is not the same as Pappy math. Most of the value is the tasting flight and the wooden case as a gift object. Once the minis are open, you have empty bottles and a nice shelf. Flippers chasing America 250 merch will find flashier single bottles elsewhere. This one is built to drink.

Bottom line

If your warehouse has it near $141 and you like trying craft American whiskey without buying 24 full bottles, it is a compact tour with better branding than a generic advent calendar. Call first. Inventory is new, prices move, and state liquor law still decides whether the box can sit on the pallet at all.

Must be 21 to purchase. Drink responsibly.
